Alice in Wonderland is the second children's opera by Efrem Podhaits in the repertoire of the theater. The performance is being prepared by a production group, which last season released a L'elisir d’amore at the Ural Opera.
Director Elizaveta Korneeva and artist Ekaterina Ageniy likened the scene to a huge chessboard, and the battle of white and black pieces was presented as a confrontation between the world of children and the world of adults. However, there are no negative characters in the play, even the Black Queen turns out not to be an enemy, but Alice's mentor and guide to the future, and she herself learns to understand herself in this game and prepares to become an adult.
