The theater continues two important repertoire lines — ordering music from Russian composers and supporting young choreographers. In recent seasons, the troupe's artists, who are trying themselves as directors, have gone through several stages: performances in annual Christmas Concerts, staging movements in operas, miniatures in the Gala Ural Ballet, the Dance Artel program. The next step is to work together on a big performance.
Four of Charles Perrault's ten fairy tales were chosen: Puss In Boots, Little Red Riding Hood, Bluebeard and Tom Thumb. Together with the prologue and epilogue, they form a whole performance — that fairy tales can be kind and cruel; that the appearance of beauties and monsters can be deceptive; that all people are different, and no appearance deprives the right to rejoice, grieve and love.
Tales of Perrault is not addressed to kids. The authors expect to have a dialogue with a young audience over the age of 12.
