The theater continues an important line of recent seasons: a new generation of Russian directors and drama artists is making their debut at the opera. This line is connected with the classical Russian repertoire: Eugene Onegin, Cherevichki, now The Snow Maiden. Anton Morozov, a student and former assistant of Andrei Moguchiy, the chief director of the Sarov Drama Theater, was invited to stage the production. He is known to the audience in Yekaterinburg for the performances Children of the Sun and Ermakov's Swans at the Chamber Theater and Cynics at the Yeltsin Center. The artist Katya Nikitina is working with him, also for the first time at the Ural Opera. After a long break, Maestro Pavel Klinichev, a regular employee of the theater, once again performs here as the musical director of the opera premiere.
It was first staged at the Ural Opera in 1913. The eighth production
