The short ballet Terzetto, according to the title, was staged for three performers. The music of Johannes Brahms gives an impulse to dance — classical in structure, modern in speed. It was composed by Alexander Merkushev, the company's premier and choreographer. There is "a lot of dynamics and energy, changing directions of movement, non—standard coordination - when the arms, body and head do not depend on the legs" (Musical Life).
In the ballet The Noon there is a Prelude To The Afternoon Rest Of The Fawn by Claude Debussy. However, choreographer Maxim Petrov says: "There is no fawn and antiquity here. More than myths, I am interested in modernity. These are five portraits of dissimilar people. First, I staged a ballet for the Mariinsky Theatre artists. With the new performers, the choreography has almost completely changed, and therefore the meanings. Only the music remains unchanged."
Both works will be shown in June 2023 in the program Dance Artel. Now they are performed in new combinations — with the ballets Napoli, Brahms Party and Salieri Variations. The choreography will not change, but a different context always reveals new shades and details.
