Tomáš Pilař
Stage Director
Tomáš Pilař is the Artistic Director of Opera Pilsen with more than 40 productions of this own realized until today.
He studied opera direction and scenography at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno and later joined courses of David Radok. Since 2009, Tomáš Pilař has worked at the National Theatre Brno and has cooperated as opera director with Prague National Theatre, Teatro Ariston Sanremo, Opera Theatres in Liberec, Opava, Brno and Pilsen. (National Theatre Brno).
He is a laureate of the Leoš Janáček International Competition for stage direction (3rd Prize, 2009), International competition of costume designers Divadelní svět Brno (1st Prize, 2014) and a scholarship recipient of Richard Wagner Society in Bayreuth (2011).
